Chest + Cervical Cancer Screening

Patients receive education and counseling on cancer risks and general health, self chest examination, and referral for mammography and other diagnostic services.

We proudly provide free and sliding fee breast & cervical cancer healthcare services through the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program.

Eligible patients do not need a method of birth control and are typically beyond their childbearing years.

Colposcopy

During a colposcopy, your doctor uses a special instrument called a colposcope to closely examine your cervix for signs of cancer.

If your doctor sees something abnormal, they’ll do a biopsy. We offer colposcopy services to patients with abnormal pap smear findings that indicate a need for further screening or biopsy.

Leep Procedure

A Loop Electrical Excision Procedure (LEEP) is a procedure to remove abnormal tissue from your cervix (the bottom part of your uterus, located at the top of your vagina). It is used to confirm a cancer diagnosis or treat precancerous conditions of your cervix. During a LEEP, a thin wire loop is used to excise (cut out) abnormal tissue. Your cervix is then cauterized (burned) to stop any bleeding. The area usually heals in 4 to 6 weeks.

The procedure will take about 10 minutes. You’ll be in the procedure room for about 30 minutes. You’ll have little or no discomfort from the procedure.

We accept most major insurance, including Medicaid.

If you do not have insurance, your cancer screening may be free. Call us at (304) 343-9834 to learn more.
